چکیده
Periodontal disease is a polymicrobial infection, characterized by gingival inflammation, pocket formation, loss of connective tissue attachment and supporting alveolar bone. Though the etiology periodontal has been established micro-organisms have implicated, pathology these inflammatory lesions attributed not only to bacterial products, that adverse effects on tissues, but also chemical mediators released host cells, as result immune reactions. Oral micro- organisms trigger endogenous pathways degradation activating cells produce release cytokines. These cytokines manifest potent pro-inflammatory catabolic activity may play key role in local amplification response well breakdown Apart from playing an important destruction, systemic elevation TNF – levels extremely toxic hence termed “Suicide hormone”. , postulated mediate wasting during chronic infections. متن کاملEffect of TNF-α Blockade in Gingival Crevicular Fluid on Periodontal Condition of Patients with Rheumatoid Arthritis
Background: Periodontitis and rheumatoid arthritis (RA) share a number of clinical and pathologic features, one of which is the presence of the tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF-α)-induced bone resorption that is involved in the pathogenesis of both. Objectives: To investigate the effect of TNF-α blockade on periodontal conditions in patients with active RA. Method: The periodontal statuses of 3...

Background: Recent studies have shown that the course of cystic fibrosis in patients with this disease differs despite the same mutation in CFTR gene. We aimed to investigate the role of polymorphism in TNF α (-308) and TNF α (-863), and its effect on the phenotype of the patients with cystic fibrosis and progression of disease. Materials and Methods:...
